A Walk Through Salem's Favorites !

Will Pirone as the Dream Bagger in Salem MaA Walk Through Salem highlights the truly fabulous in town. It is hard to know where to start. Do we start by talking about the artists, the history, or shopping? Well if we went from A to Z, and did not stick to that formula, I would have to mention the artist Mat Maguire.

Mat Maguire has worked for Marvel comics doing Wolverine, Top Cow, and has four Heavy Metal issues he appears in. Ask him about his tragic Game show hero. He works in town at Witch City Ink painting skin in Salem's top Tattoo parlor. Mat Appears in our book as the Mil Man on Milk Street.

Then on the wharf there is this shop that has amazing hand blown glass, Jewelry with the most exotic stones in handcrafted ethnic settings, and great hospitality. John and Rose are truly a delight to meet. Support merchants with heart! This lovely couple are illustrated as the Artisans. Come visit these real witches of Salem Ma!

Oh then we have the Cat N the Fiddle Uniques. Mike was the first person I had illustrated for this tale. The shop I illustrated, he moved. Then I illustrated his new shop into the narrative, then he died fishing the largest Cod ever seen off this coast and the lobster secretly rejoiced. Synchronicity would have it I would paint the funeral home which would be the future host to his wake. I think he caught a ride on the Immaculate Rocket to the Great Fishing Ground. But go by and visit his shop and say hi to his gorgeous wife Marie and his strong son Adam today for some fine antiques and uniques.

Like I said, A to Z was more an idea than a rule. For the Baobab Space is a great spot to drink tea with me and Mamadou. Just watch out for Djibi streaking by with a dust devil in his wake. Then eat lunch with a ghost at the Lyceum. After walking about town stop by for dinner at the Pig's Eye and say hi to Jason and ask him how he gets the bacon out of the trees. Then end the night with cocktails, music, and dance at Rockefellas. Their ghost checked out a couple years ago. It was about time! Rockefellas is also connected to the underground tunnel that once formed part of the Underground Railroad.

Then you can see some cool Monsters and props from classic horror at Count Orlok's. Just remember never to eat there and be careful not to be bit by the werewolf. He bites one person a week on average! But don't worry, if he bites you we can always ship you out of town by sea at Victoria Station. Then walk the wharfs of America oldest national park.

Salem has a great underground Goth Scene. Vampires, witches, Masons, belly dancers, musicians ply the streets with their style and class. They are all outfitted at the Fool's Mansion. Nick, Mat, Josh, and Maura are illustrated in our tale. Just remember when you see Christina behind the counter, remind her it is always her fault. Then for a guided tour of our story visit Tim Maguire (no relation) at Remember Salem. Ask him if you visit his ghosts in the basement and see the access way to the tunnel under his shop. Then lift your spirits and eat lots of sugar at Ye Olde Pepper Companie. Visit the Dragon at Mackey's Metal Sculpture Yard near the Boston Ferry wharf. Then travel off to the Willows for some Skee Ball, Popcorn at Hobbs, and a American Chop Suey Sandwich. Salem is truly amazing, I hope you enjoy these suggestions. Maybe I will see you about and sign a book and doodle you something for ya.

Cheers,

Chris
